This Fund is the result of a generous gift by Don (Grumpy) Stewart, a life member, CROBA member and lifelong supporter and benefactor of College Rifles. Don’s vision was to make Rifles the home of New Zealand’s premier Rugby and Sports Club, by:
Ensuring future funding
Ensuring future funding for the fields and facilities at College Rifles Park for the benefit of the wider local community;
Charitable grant
Distribution of an annual charitable grant.
The Trust is seeking applications for the 2021 annual charitable Grant. The application period closes Friday October 15th 2021 at 5.00pm, if awarded the Grant will be announced at the Club Annual Meeting in November 2021.
The charitable Grant amount will be up to $3,000 for one year.
Who can apply?
Any College Rifles member, supporter or volunteer covering any sport undertaken at College Rifles Park.
Purposes of grant
Although the Grant must be for a charitable purpose the application of grant funds are wide and varied. Trustees encourage members to apply for any cause they are passionate about or purpose they believe needs support, including partial support for a larger social initiative.
Examples
- Provision of resources or development of skills either sporting or vocational;
- Advancing education for vocational requirements;
- Guidance and personal development, including general welfare, physical or mental;
- Advancing health, including wider participation in sports. The Grant recipient can be a Club member or any individual/group in the wider community.
